Yong Ding district certainly deserves to be visited. We appreciated staying at Da Cheng Shanshui. We were really close to such places as tujia folk customs park.
Nothing, all great.

Spacious rooms and proximity to airport
Stayed for a business trip. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, and I enjoyed the lovely mountain views. , the hotel is located very close to the airport, which was very convenient for me. they had a 7-Eleven type store in the lobby that stayed open until 11 pm.
The staff did not speak English, which made communication difficult at times. The breakfast was also not great, with limited options and low-quality food.

not much to like
The staff is not English savvy. They do not understand the reservation form from Booked.net and as a result the booking in on arrival take ages to complete. They do not enforce the NO Smoking policy and non smoking room reeks of tobacco smoke Their breakfast is of poor quality.

The facilities offered on the website ie suana, gym, minigolf, tennis courts etc was all fictitious. None of these facilities existed. The excuse given was that they have only been open for 2yrs, but there are no sign of planning to build or open any of these facilities. Their breakfast was oriental and did not cater for western diet at all. The taxis outside the hotel were very arrogant, refusing many times to take us to places because it was not worth their trip. For instance, wanting to go to dinner in town when it was raining (RMB6 when a taxi was eventually flagged down in the rain outside the hotel, with about 5 taxis standing around the front entrance refusing to take us)

The location was perfect - close to the airport and a short walk to the cable car for Tianmen mountain. Staff were welcoming, even for a late check-in. The rooms were spacious and clean. There were plenty of dining options nearby, and the hotel had a great breakfast buffet and other food court choices. The view from the rooms was beautiful, overlooking Zhangjiajie city and Tianmen mountain. Taxis and buses were easily accessible for exploring the area.
Absolutely nothing.

Excellent hotel in excellent place. Only 3km from airport. For 1 yuan per person you can go there by bus 4A or 4B and 10-15 min walk to buss station, if you decide go to Zhangjiajie national park. Bus cost 10 Yuan per person from city till park. 10 min walk located also cable car to wonderful Tianmenshan mountains
Staff didn't speak English.

It is a huge problem to find any english-speaking person! At the tourist- center, at the massage/health center, at the restaurants - nobody speak English. Be ready to be cheated at the massage center - it is normal situation there. The breakfast is very poor and bad quality. And it is also in the order of things for this hotel to let the guests to smoke absolutely everywhere (lifts, restaurants and etc). So, be ready that most of the Chinese guests will puff smoke to your face.

The massage person was excellent! Some of the front desk staff were nice and helpful. Even though there are "No Smoking" signs everywhere, it is not enforced at all, like many places in China....
The smoking. The not so great breakfast. Extremely rude guests.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The location was perfect for me since it was close to the airport and within walking distance to the cable car that took me to the mountain summit. The staff were nice and hospitable, even for my late check-in. The hotel facilities were good, particularly the breakfast buffet and massage center. The rooms were clean and spacious, and I had a great view of the city and the mountain from my window.
Nothing to be said.
